Biography
Seth Bushinsky uses BGC float measurements to understand net biological production, air-sea gas exchange, the relative roles of biology and physics in setting the large-scale cycles we observe, and much more. An Assistant Professor at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, his research interests are centered around biogeochemical cycles in the ocean, especially the processes that control oxygen and carbon exchange between the ocean and atmosphere. Dr Bushinsky works across a variety of scales, from understanding and improving sensors, to process level understanding of how biological and physical mechanisms impact ocean biogeochemistry, to quantifying regional and global air-sea fluxes.
